  1. कृपया kindly श्रूयतां may you listen to स्वामिन् O master प्रश्नः question अयं this क्रियते is done मया by me तद् that उत्तरम् answer अहं I श्रुत्वा having heard कृतार्थः one who has gained everything स्यां will become भवन्मुखात् from your mouth (O master, may the question done by me be kindly heard by you. Having heard the answer from your mouth, I will become the one who has gained everything.)

  3. धन्यः fortunate असि you are कृतकृत्यः the one who has done everything that is to be done असि you are पावितं sanctified ते your कुलं your whole family त्वया by you यद् as अविद्याबन्धमुक्त्या by gaining freedom from the bondage of ignorance ब्रह्मीभवितुम् to become Brahman इच्छसि you desire. (You are the fortunate one. You are the who has accomplished all that is to be done. Your whole family is sanctified by you as you desire to become Brahman by gaining freedom from the bondage of ignorance.)
  4. ऋणमोचनकर्तारः the payers of the debt पितुः of the father सन्ति are सुतादयः sons बन्धमोचनकर्ता to free from bondage तु but स्वस्माद् than oneself अन्यः other न कश्चन no body. (Sons are there to free the father from debt but none other than oneself is there to free oneself from bondage.)
  5. मस्तकन्यस्तभारादेः of the burden placed on the head दुःखम् sorrow अन्यैः by others निवार्यते is removed क्षुदादिकृतदुःखं the sorrow caused by hunger तु but विना other than स्वेन oneself न not केनचित् by anybody. (The sorrow of the burden placed on the head is removed by others(by carrying it for the person) but the sorrow caused by hunger is removed not by anybody else other than oneself.)
  6. पथ्यम् rules of medicine औषधसेवा taking the medicine च and क्रियते is done येन by which रोगिणा patient आरोग्यसिद्धिः restoration of health दृष्टा is seen अस्य of him न not अन्यानुष्ठितकर्मणा by actions done by others. (The restoration of health is seen by the patient who abides by the rules of medicine and takes the medicine; not by actions done by others.)

  8. अविद्याकामकर्मादिपाशबन्धं the bondage of the string of ignorance, desire and action विमोचितुम् to untie कः who शक्नुयात् is able to विना other than आत्मानम् oneself कल्पकोटिशतैः अपि even after billions of years. (Who other than oneself is able to untie the bondage of the string of ignorance, desire and action even after billions of years.)
