- अहंकारादि-देहान्तान् starting from ahaṅkāra ending with the body, बन्धान् the bondages अज्ञान-कल्पितान् are given a reality because of ignorance. स्व-स्वरूपावबोधेन By knowing ones own true nature, मोक्तुम् to be free, इच्छा desire, मुमुक्षुता is the desire for freedom. (The bondage of my oneness with the adjuncts starting from the ahaṅkāra to the body are given a reality because of ignorance. The desire to be free from the bondage by knowing one’s own true nature is the real desire for freedom.)
- मन्द-मध्यम-रूपापि Even though (the mumukṣā is) of lowest intensity or medium intensity, वैराग्येण because of vairāgya, शमादिना because of the qualities which begin with śama, प्रसादेन (and) because of the blessing गुरोः of the teacher सा that इयं प्रवृद्धा this increased (mumukṣā) सूयते gives birth to फलम् the result (mokṣa).
