- विषयाख्यग्रहः shark known as sense objects येन by whom सुविरक्त्यसिना with the sword of complete dispassion हतः is destroyed स he गच्छति goes भवाम्भोधेः ocean of samsāra पारं across प्रत्यूहवर्जितः being free from all obstacles (By whom the shark of sense objects has been destroyed with the sword of complete dispassion, he crosses the ocean of samsāra being free from all obstacles)
- िवषमविषयमार्गैर्गच्छतः one who is traveling on the uneven road of sense objects, अनच्छबुद्धेः person with impure mind (आपातवैराग्यवान्), प्रतिपदम् every step अभियातः approaches मृत्युः death अपि एषः this विद्धि may you know हितसुजनगुरूक्त्या guidelines given by cultured people and teachers who are well-wishers गच्छतः the who conducts life स्वस्य one’s own युक्त्या thinking प्रभवति happens फलसिद्धिः success सत्यम् इति एव विद्धि know this as the truth (May you know that the one who is traveling on the uneven road of sense objects with an impure mind approaches death at every step. But the one who travels with the guidelines given by cultured people and teachers who are well-wishers, and with thinking, success happens to him only. May you know this as the truth.)
- मोक्षस्य of freedom कांक्षा desire यदि if वै indeed तव your अस्ति is त्यज give up अतिदूरात् from along distance विषयान् sense objects विषं poison यथा as पीयूषवत् like nectar तोषदयाक्षमार्जवप्रशान्तिदान्तीः satisfaction, kindness, truthfulness, quietened and disciplined mental status and sense control भज may you enjoy नित्यम् always अादरात् eagerly (If there is desire for mokṣa for you, then eagerly give up sense objects from a distance like poison, and always enjoy satisfaction (with as much you need), kindness, truthfulness (honesty), quietened and disciplined mental status and sense control like nectar.)
